Ivey is a southern-born photographer and filmmaker based in Brooklyn. She is an obsessive documenter, and is strongly compelled to capture the heart of any given moment with warmth and honesty.

Ivey is endlessly interested in examining the familiar landscapes of memory and childhood through her personal work - particularly through a filmmaking approach that rests in the smudged boundary between documentary and fiction. Her debut short film In the Garden, which centers around the life of her own grandmother in the American South, had it’s world premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival and received the Audience Award for best short documentary. In the Garden is currently still in the international festival circuit, and has gone one to screen at the Atlanta Film Festival, Amdocs, SouthSide, and Macon. She is currently in post-production for her next personal short documentary, centering around collective memory and the myth of growing up.
