Ivey is a Brooklyn based photographer and filmmaker working in film and digital mediums. She is an obsessive documenter, and is strongly compelled to capture the heart of any given moment with warmth and honesty.
Ivey is endlessly interested in examining the familiar landscapes of memory and childhood through her personal work - particularly through a filmmaking approach that rests in the smudged boundary between documentary and fiction. Her debut short film In the Garden, which is centered around the life of her own grandmother in the American South, recently had it’s world premiere at the New Orleans Film Festival and received the Audience Award for best short documentary.
